Tied to the tourist tradition of Bariloche, Cathedral Hill is
one of the most popular and complete winter ski resorts in South
America, internationally recognized for its quality establishments
and services. The center is located on the west side of Cathedral Hill. This
mountain gets its name from its peaks that seem to take the shape
of a gothic cathedral. Its maximum altitude reaches 2,388 m (7,832
ft) above sea level and since it is situated in an open area, one
has an extraordinary view of the surrounding mountains and peaks.
The base of the resort is located at 1,050 m (3,444 ft) above sea
level and the slopes reach an altitude of up to 1,950 m (6,396 ft).
Villa Catedral (Cathedral Villa) is a small mountain village at
the base of the mountain. It provides all the services a skier could
possibly need: accommodations, first aid, restaurants, discotheques,
telephones, internet, security, stores where you can buy or rent
equipment, etc. Cathedral Hill is managed by two different entities: Upper Patagonia
in the north and the Rio Negro Province in the south. Each area
functions with different tickets that cannot be combined. The ski resort boasts 50 slopes and 27 lifts.

How to get there
To San Carlos de Bariloche, by car: from Buenos Aires
on National Route 3, 22, and 151. By bus: there are various
bus companies that offer transportation. By plane: the
International Airport is 12 Km (7.5 mi) from the city.
You can fly Aerolineas Argentinas, Austral, Lade, Ladeco,
Sapse, Tam, Kaiken, SW. By train: Sefepa, Bariloche-Viedma
line.

and cross-country as well as snowboarding.
